About me

I am an engineer living in Tucson, Arizona. I currently work for IBM in tape storage. (Tape is not dead! It’s still the cheapest form of storage for companies who have huge quantities of data to store, such as credit card companies, insurance companies, geophysical companies… Tape is still very much a viable form of storage!) I enjoy reading, hiking, biking, racquetball, photography, and food. One thing I feel very strongly about is reaching out to the younger generations to teach them that math and science are very much a part of our lives and that they too can do math and science. I also talk about what engineers do, because I think that’s something of a mystery. This passion is why I decided to start this blog.
